Choosing a new file clears this browser’s recovery access to the existing job. It does not cancel processing. That job may still finish and count toward your allowance.

How free use works

Free WAV downloads. Up to 5 jobs per browser per day, shared by the two-track and four-track tools. The allowance resets at 00:00 UTC. Site capacity and network protection can pause processing even when you have jobs left.

Previewing a file or listening to examples uses no jobs. Download your results within 55 minutes after processing finishes.

How to extract an acapella from a song

01

Choose your recording

Select an MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A or OGG from your device. Use a recording you own or have permission to process, up to 10 minutes and 100 MB.

02

Extract the voice

Preview the source locally, confirm your audio rights, then select Extract vocals. One separation produces the vocal and instrumental tracks here on this page.

03

Listen, then save the vocal

The result opens on Vocals. Compare the same passage with the original, listen for instrument bleed, then download the Vocals WAV before its link expires.

MADE FOR YOUR NEXT STEP

Use the vocal for a closer listen

Study phrasing and timing

Listen to a short passage where the singer enters or finishes a line. Switch between the original and the vocal at the same position to hear how the phrase sits against the accompaniment.

Rework your own recording

Save the vocal WAV and import it into your audio editor for a new arrangement. This page separates the voice; it does not detect the song’s key, change its tempo or align it to another beat.

Keep the source alongside it

An extracted vocal is an estimate of the voice in the mix. Keep your original file so you can compare quiet consonants, sustained notes and reverb tails before editing.

Instrument bleed

Cymbals, guitar notes or other sounds may remain around the vocal. Listen during gaps between words, where those traces are easiest to notice.

Reverb and backing voices

The vocal can include harmonies, doubles and room sound. This tool does not separately deliver lead vocals, backing vocals or a dry studio vocal.

Missing detail

Compare soft syllables and the ends of notes against the original. If important details are missing, a clearer source may help; exporting an MP3 as WAV cannot restore detail already lost.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Acapella Extractor: FAQ

What is an acapella extractor?

An acapella extractor separates the singing voice from the music in an existing recording. An acapella maker describes the same task here: it extracts a vocal rather than generating a new performance.

Is an acapella the same as a karaoke backing track?

They are opposite outputs. An acapella keeps the voice; a karaoke backing track keeps the accompaniment with the voice reduced. This separation gives you both, and this page opens the vocal first.

Can I extract only the lead singer?

This tool provides one combined vocal track. Harmonies, backing vocals, vocal doubles and reverb can remain together. It does not offer separate lead and backing vocal controls.

Will the vocal be completely clean?

Not every recording separates cleanly. Dense arrangements, effects and overlapping sounds can leave instrumental traces or alter parts of the voice. Listen to the complete result before using it in a finished mix.

Is the full WAV download free?

Yes. Completed jobs include both full-length WAV tracks, with no account, email address or payment required. The allowance is up to 5 jobs per browser per day, shared across our separation pages and reset at midnight UTC. Each file must be no longer than 10 minutes and no larger than 100 MB. Network safeguards and site-wide capacity limits also apply.

Which files and links can I use?

Choose a mono or stereo MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A or OGG file your browser can play. Use audio you own or have permission to process. YouTube, Spotify and SoundCloud links are not accepted. Separation does not grant rights to publish someone else’s recording.

How long can I access the files?

Download links expire 55 minutes after processing finishes. Uploads are private, temporarily stored and deleted automatically; that does not extend the download window. Save your WAVs promptly. See the privacy policy for retention details.

Do I need to separate again after a refresh?

This browser can recover its latest two-track job using an essential temporary cookie, including when you move between the homepage and these two-track pages. Check the existing job before submitting another. Recovery does not start a new separation, and a local original preview is not restored after a refresh.
